The Top Brass is a community-created cosmetic item for the Demoman. It is a dark team-colored peaked cap with a lighter team-colored band and a brass pin on the front which features the Demoman's class emblem. It also gives the Demoman a black bushy moustache.
This item has two styles, named "Paint Hat" and "Paint Stache". When painted, "Paint Hat" applies paint to the hat, while "Paint Stache" applies paint to the moustache.
The Top Brass was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

This item has very little effect on its appearance when its styles are changed unless painted. Mann Co. Orange paint is used here for demonstration purposes.

- The badge on the hat is based on the cap badge of the Grenadier Guards in the British army.
- "Top brass" is slang for people who lead an organization.
- This item, along with the Commanding Presence and the Mine Sweepers are based on the character General Melchett from Blackadder Goes Forth.[1]
