The Plutonidome is a community-created Miscellaneous item for the Pyro. It replaces the Pyro's head with a brain contained within a pressurized shell inside neon green fluid. It was added in game for the 2012 Spectral Halloween Special.

This item has two styles. The second style for this item cracks the glass, draining the fluid and leaving the brain in a small puddle.

This item can only be worn around Halloween or during a Full Moon; at other times of the year, it does not appear in gameplay, unless the server has Halloween mode enabled. However, it can be equipped at any time and can still be viewed on the loadout screen even when it is not visible during games.

The Plutonidome was originally contributed to the Steam Workshop under the name "The Cortex Command".

Bugs

• The Styles for this item do not have names, rather they are Tf_Pyro_Head0# and Tf_Pyro_Head1# respectively.
• If you equip both this item and the Voodoo-Cursed Pyro Soul, the skull that would appear on the Pyro when equiped with the soul will appear to be in the dome area instead of the brain.

Trivia

• This item's original name is a reference to Cortex Command, in which the player takes control of a disembodied brain.
• It's original Workshop description referenced the Sherlock Holmes quote: "I am a brain, Watson. The rest of me is a mere appendix."
• It's name is portmanteau of 'plutonium' and 'dome'.
