The Frenchman's Beret is a community-created headwear item for the Spy, released with the second wave of community-contributed content. It is a team colored artist's beret, with two paint brushes on the left side.
The hat description was written by SoulDestroy for the Hat Describing Contest and was slightly edited by Valve.

Trivia
- It was submitted under the name of the "Bourgeois Beret" before Valve renamed it to the "Frenchman's Beret."
- Template:W are worn by both men and women and are usually associated with France, although it is in fact rather specific only to the Pyrenees. It has also been occasionally a traditional or fashionable headgear in the Netherlands and Italy.[1]
- Daimao, the maker of this hat's mesh and RED texture, also contributed the Vita-Saw and the updated paint textures added in the December 2, 2010 Patch.
- Berets were originally made as part of war uniforms in France and Spain during the 19th century.
