The Hard Counter is an unlockable headwear item for the Heavy, released with the Mann-conomy Update. It appears as a umbrella hat with the Heavy's logo on it.

- Umbrella hats are commonly worn by golfers, or other indivuals who need to keep rain or sunlight off their faces while keeping both hands free.
- Despite the description, the Hard Counter offers no protection from Jarate.
- "Hard Counter" is a term used mostly in online gaming that describes one thing (skill/weapon/equipment) that completely counters another.
