Trivia
- The rubber glove's yellow and gray pattern looks remarkably like the Engineer's work glove. However, the glove appears to be for the right hand, with slight molding for the fingers indicating that it cannot be turned inside-out, and the Engineer is missing his left glove, not his right.
- The glove gives the Pyro a striking resemblance to 'Feathers McGraw', a criminal mastermind and character from the Wallace and Gromit claymation series episode "The Wrong Trousers." Feathers, a penguin, also used a rubber glove to pretend to be a chicken, albeit briefly.
- The hat possesses "jiggle bones;" this means the fingers can "jiggle" as the Pyro moves. This was the first official hat to receive this ability. Other examples of jiggle boned hats include: Max's Severed Head, Hustler's Hallmark, Pugilist's Protector, and Alien Swarm Parasite.
- Contrary to what many believe, there are actually two different team-specific skin variants for this hat. Neither is team colored, instead differing slightly from each other in terms of color brightness and contrast. (Notice how the RED team variant is darker and slightly more of a saturated orange hue, whereas the BLU team variant is a slightly lighter yellow hue.) These colors match those of the Engineer's gloves.
- When painted, the entire orange area of the glove changes color to whichever paint used. The grey finger tips and circle around the wrist remain the same.
- The hat description was written by Colonelcool.
- It has been rumored that the glove may be from Radigan Conagher, (the engineer's grandfather) supporting that the pyro is Abraham Lincoln
