The Engineer

The Safe'n'Sound is a headwear item available for the Engineer. It appears as a pair of team-colored ear defenders, likely to protect him from the racket of building items from metal or from gunshots.

Trivia

  • This headwear item is most notably worn by construction workers who use jackhammers to protect their ears from the noise. Construction workers also wear these above or inside their hardhats; the Engineer, however, does not.
  • Having the item worn underneath the hat was contemplated by the creator Konras,[1] however, was scrapped due to the similarities it would have had to the Engineer's Mining Light.
  • The hat description was written by foxtrot261.
  • This hat does a poor job of its actual purpose. You can still hear everything in TF2 just fine with it on.
