The Hard Counter is an unlockable headwear item for the Heavy, released with the Mann-conomy Update. It appears as a team-colored umbrella hat with the Heavy's logo on it.
Trivia
- Umbrella hats are commonly worn by golfers, beachgoers or other individuals who need to keep rain or sunlight off their faces while keeping both hands free.
- Despite the description, the Hard Counter offers no protection from Jarate.
- "Hard Counter" is a term used mostly in online gaming that describes one thing (skill/weapon/equipment) that completely counters another (which is ironic, considering this hat is supposed to give the Heavy protection from one of his hard counters, the Sniper).
- It's possible that this may be a pun referencing the game "Heavy Rain."
