Trivia
- Template:W is the capital of the state of Jalisco in Mexico, which translates to "Stony River" in Arabic. The name is quite a clever reference to the Pyro, as in the 1990s a series of gasoline explosions rocked the city, killing 200 people and leaving 15,000 homeless.[1]
- In Guadalajara, the mariachi band has a strong influence at fiestas and quincinieras. The mariachi bands wear these types of hats.
- There is much speculation about the Pyro's private life, and as such, Valve has appeared to "toy" with the community with sly references to throw them off the scent; this hat, portraying the Pyro with Mexican heritage, is representative of this.
- The city of Template:W is widely associated with Template:W music. This hat may be a reference to the sombreros worn by Mariachi musicians in the area.
- Mariachi music is almost universal in Mexican culture, and is often included in special occasions. The hat's description text might be a reference to this.
- The Pyro's classic air guitar taunt may also support the fact that the Pyro may enjoy or play mariachi music.
- This hat is possibly a reference to the El Gringo Pack, another pack from the Polycount contest where the hat was originally intended for the Heavy.
- This hat may be a reference to the Control Point Podcast, where a Pyro's sombrero was a frequently requested hat.
