The Gridiron Guardian is a community-created cosmetic item for the Heavy. It is a robotized version of the Football Helmet.
The Gridiron Guardian was contributed to the Steam Workshop under the name "The Iron Quarter-Back".

Notes
- In the Robotic Boogaloo video, the Football Helmet is used to show the new robotized hats, the result of which is this item.
Trivia
- The description is a reference to the Montreal Alouettes, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Saskatchewan Roughriders, three teams in the Canadian Football League. The Montreal Alouettes won the Championship twice against the Saskatchewan Roughriders, in 2009 and 2010.
- The name Gridiron is a reference in the DC Comics on Strange Sports in December 1962 : Goliath of the Gridiron, which featured a scientist ingesting berries, that grew on soil that had been affected by a meteorite, which had given him the body of an athlete, and competes in a Football Tournament.
