- This item's appearance are a reference to the helmet worn by Maximus Decimus Meridus in the movie Gladiator (which was used by rapper MF DOOM (stylized in all caps) for his mask).[1]
- The name of this item is a reference to MF DOOM (under the pseudonym of Viktor Vaughn) and his album Vaudeville Villain.[2]
