The Flared Frontiersman is a community-created cosmetic item for the Engineer. It changes the calves of Engineer's overalls to bell-bottoms (also called "flares") by adding contrasting-colored inserts and adds a stamped brass buckle with a wrench icon to his belt.
The Flared Frontiersman was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

Due to how the textures are set up, painting the Flared Frontiersman with single color Paint Cans results in different colorization on the paint regions between teams.

- Even though the Rockin' Raiment was not added into the game, the Flared Frontiersman's texture file includes the textures of the Rockin' Raiment. This is because both items share the same texture file.
- This item's design is a reference to the musician Elvis Presely, who would often wear similar pants when performing on stage.
