Bill's Hat is a headwear item for all classes. It is styled after the hat that Bill wears in Left 4 Dead. It appears as a slightly worn team-colored beret. The hat possesses a yellow shield insignia, or "flash", indicating that Bill was a member of the Template:W.

Bill's Hat was awarded to players who had pre-ordered the Valve title Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam or for PC through Template:W.

The hat description was written by Calvary for the Hat Describing Contest.

Trivia

  • Bill's Hat has its own intricate back-story; "While conducting a science experiment on parallel dimensions, Bill's Hat fell off a table into the Team Fortress universe."[1]
  • Bill's Hat will appear black when running the game under DirectX 8.
  • A wrapped Bill's Hat will appear as "L4D Hat" on the gift's description thumbnail from within the sender's backpack.
