The following is the construction of a poorly executed joke.

Not to be confused with Ghastly Gibus.
Erectin' a statue of a moron.
The Engineer on anyone who wears this hat.

The Golden Ghastly Gibus is an unlockable cosmetic item for all classes. It's appearance is similar to the Ghastly Gibus, only instead it is constructed out of pure Austrailium.

In a similar fashion to the Golden Frying Pan, the hat can be earned as a .0001% (1 in 1000000) drop in Mann Up mode. The other method through which it could then be unlocked was to complete the Golden Ghastly Gibus Grab Foolchievement by dominating a player who is wearing the hat.

The hat functions similarly to the Golden Frying Pan, Golden Wrench, and Saxxy, only instead of turning the enemy ragdols into golden statues, it turns the wearer into a golden statue upon death. The effect is also applies to jiggle bones, which will freeze in place.

Painted variants

These should either A. all be gold, B. be very slight variations on gold, or C. have something small on it be colored (but the rest be gold)

Make them all gold. Just make a redirect for the regular golden one.

Update history

April 1, 2016 Patch (Fools' Gold Update)

  • The Golden Ghastly Gibus was added to the game.

Bugs

  • Occasionally, the Golden Ghastly Gibus will trigger the gold effect on your killer instead of you.

Trivia

  • The gibus was invented in 1812 and named after its inventor, Antoine Gibus, who was a 19th century Frenchman. It is a men's collapsible top hat held open or in shape by springs and usually covered with a black, silky fabric. It was made collapsible so that patrons of the opera could place it under their seats during the show, often garnering it the name "opera hat" [1].
  • 79 is the Atomic Number for Gold (Au) [2].

The following is the construction of a style guide for HLMV images.

The following HLMV Style guide aims to demonstrate the correct way to create HLMV images. Please refer to this in order to help improve existing HLMV images and raise them to high quality standards.

Class images

When making a class image, (for the infobox or gallery), there are a few points to remember:

  • The most important thing to remember is to use HWM models and also use the RED team models.
  • It is always important to get the best angle for the cosmetic in question.
    • Generally, the infobox image will have the class facing towards the page, but if there is a better angle then you can use it.
  • Try to create an interesting, but suitable pose (You can even merge animations together if needs be).
  • Try giving the class a suitable facial expression, but don't overdo it
    • A good tip for this is; if it's hard to make the face in real life, then it's not a good expression to use.
  • Class galleries (for all-class or multi-class cosmetics), should always be in a different pose to the infobox image.
    • This avoids repetition and makes the page much more interesting.
  • For taunts, try to get the most relevant part of the animation.
    • For example, the Rancho Relaxo has the engineer sitting in his chair as opposed to preparing to sit on it.

Team Colors/Painted Variants

Main article: Painted variants (tutorial)

When making painted variants or team colors, there are a few good tips to follow:

  • The cosmetic should be angled in such a way so that it best represents where the paint appears.
    • The usual angle is to have the cosmetic face the bottom left of the image, but use a better angle if there is one.
  • For hats or facial cosmetics, you should only use the class' head if it is an item that attaches to the face/head. (Eg: glasses or hair)
    • This is to reduce vertical space, giving you a much closer view of the cosmetic.
  • For clothing items (jackets, pants, shirts, etc.), you must always include the classes body with the irrelevant body parts removed.

Other models

For all other models (weapons, props etc), they should always be facing the bottom left corner of the box if there is no better angle.
