Got da ball back!
The Scout

The Ball-Kicking Boots are a promotional cosmetic item for the Scout. They are a pair of team-colored football (soccer) socks and cleats.

When equipped, a team-colored football adorned with all nine class emblems can spawn with the player. This ball can be knocked around in a similar fashion to the Beach Ball from Birthday mode. Scout's footstep noises are also changed to resemble those of running with cleats.

This item was awarded in Genuine quality to players who pre-purchased Football Manager 2012 on Steam before October 21, 2011.

Football

Footballs are props that can spawn on maps when players equip with the Ball-Kicking Boots. One team-colored football appears in a team's spawn the first time in a round that a team member equips the Ball-Kicking Boots. At most, one RED football and one BLU football can be on a map at one time. Footballs can also appear for the duration of "Waiting for Players" before the round starts.

Once spawned, a football remains on the map for the remainder of the round, including Humiliation. This means that to put a ball on the map, a player merely has to spawn as Scout with the Ball-Kicking Boots equipped. The football will not despawn if the player changes class or team. However, footballs can become unreachable if knocked into normally inaccessible locations, such as Pitfalls. Such Pitfalls can also be found in Spawn rooms, like the back walls of BLU Spawns in maps like Upward, Mossrock, Mountain Lab, and Monster Bash.

Like the Birthday Beach Ball, footballs can be knocked around anywhere around the map by most attacks, as long as the player is in range of the ball. Footballs can be pushed far by Sandman balls, explosions and compression blasts. Other projectiles, melee attacks, bullets and pellets push the football less strongly. Some attacks, like the Short Circuit's primary fire and the Flying Guillotine's alt-fire provide little push force. Various projectiles have no effect at all, including crossbow bolts, arrows, syringes, and Pyro's flares.

When a football touches a Payload Cart, it is knocked away, sometimes flying away at great speed.
