The Engineer's Cap is a headwear item for the Engineer. It is a soft fabric cap with white and team-colored stripes, a stiff brim, and the Engineer's icon with the word "Railroad" beneath it on the front of the cap.

- This hat was made paintable.
- [Undocumented] This hat can now be uncrated with Unusual quality.
- Paint affects this hat's color more, colors are less washed out.
Bugs
- On the RED team version of this hat, when paint is used, or previewed in the Mann Co. Store, no change in color is observed. This bug was reported in countless threads on the Official Steam User's Forums, but has not been fixed for years, since Valve obviously doesn't care about it.
Trivia
- This hat is also known as the Kromer Cap, named after George "Stormy" Kromer. The semi-pro baseball player and railroad engineer is credited with inventing the hat.[1]
