The Mining Light was the first unlockable headwear item for the Engineer. It appears as a strap-on helmet lamp typically used by miners, attached to his regular hardhat.

The hat description was written by ravn0s, however it should be noted that the full submission ("For Engineers with bright ideas. Or for when you're lost in the dark") was not used in its entirety.

Trivia

  • The bulb of the light glows in the dark.
  • Typical miner's helmets have a fitting either attached to them or molded into their surface, for the purpose of holding such a light. Since the Engineer wears a construction worker's hard hat, the light must be attached by non-conductive leather or nylon straps.
