The Heavy Duty Rag is a community-created headwear item for the Heavy. It appears as a team-colored bandana or 'doo-rag' with the Team Fortress 2 logo as a pattern, which the Heavy has tied over the top of his shining bald pate.

Trivia

  • Team Fortress Classic's 'Heavy Weapons Guy' wears a similar bandana.
  • It was most likely named after the G.I. Joe character Heavy Duty, who is a heavy weaponry expert with a similar doo-rag. "Duty Rag" is a play on words using the slang term "doo-rag".
  • The description of this hat is based on the quotation "It costs four hundred thousand dollars to fire this weapon... for twelve seconds", a phrase from Meet the Heavy that has seen wide usage and parody.
