Styles change the bird's color patterns. Distinguished makes the bird white, resembling a Template:W, while Imbued changes the belly feathers to a dull green.
When a player equipped with the Bird-Man of Aberdeen, in Pyroland, kills an enemy unassisted by another player, the killfeed shows the bird getting the assist, with its custom name if it has one.
The Bird-Man of Aberdeen was contributed to the Steam Workshop under the name "Some spare eyes v_2.3".

- The item's name is a reference to Robert Stroud, a federal prisoner whose work with birds during imprisonment earned him the nickname "Birdman of Alcatraz", despite not being allowed to keep pets during his incarceration at Alcatraz itself.
