The Robot Chicken Hat is a community-created promotional cosmetic item for all classes. It is based on the Robot Chicken from the eponymous television series; it consists of a partial metal lid that covers the upper right half of the head, with team-colored, jiggly spikes on top representing a comb, and one eye with a team-colored light for a pupil, connected to the hat via a pair of team-colored and yellow wires. An orange beak is placed at the very front of the hat, next to the eye.
This item has two styles, named "Normal" and "Beakless". The "Beakless" style removes the beak.
This item was awarded in Genuine quality to players who signed up for the free Adult Swim newsletter and redeemed the code e-mailed to them. Players who signed up before June 27, 2012, received their codes on June 28, 2012, and those who signed before July 4, 2012, received their codes on July 5, 2012.
The Robot Chicken Hat was later contributed to the Steam Workshop, at Valve's request.
