The Balloonicorn is a miscellaneous item for all classes. It's an inflatable, team-colored unicorn that floats behind the player. This item may only be seen in-game by users who are in Pyroland.
When equipped, players are able to see in Pyrovision; map textures are replaced with those of Pyroland, gibs and pickups are replaced with their counterparts from birthday mode, other players' voices become high-pitched, and other players laugh when injured or killed.
When players equipped with the Balloonicorn kill an enemy unassisted by another player, the killfeed shows Balloonicorn getting the assist, with its custom name if it has one.
This item is awarded in Genuine quality to those who purchase the real life version from the Valve store.

- Before being officially added to the game, Balloonicorn was hinted at in the comic A Smissmas Story, on page 1, hanging on the tree.
