The UGC Highlander tournament medals are a series of medals awarded in Genuine quality to those who participated in the Highlander tournaments conducted by the UGC TF2 league.
Currently UGC is in its 24th season and throughout the years it has had a lot of different medal designs. The only seasons thus far without represented medals are the pilot seasons, 1 & 2, and the short summer seasons, 4, 7 and 10 that didn't have any playoffs. The rest of the seasons share 8 distinct medal designs:
The Season 3 medal is a shield with wings held up by a red, blue and black ribbon. On the shield it has the words "UGC Highlander 2011" and whatever division you were in and the placement you got.
The season 5 medal takes the likeness of a Chalice with wings, a common shape for sporting trophies, with the words "UGC" displayed in the middle.
The season 6 medal is a sort of plaque that has "UGC" printed on it. Underneath is a symbol that changes dependent on the rank: 3rd place has one star, 2nd place has three stars and 1st place has 3 stars and a banner that goes across them.
The season 8 medal is a star with a horseshoe shape on it. Within the horseshoe shape is the roman symbol for either 1 (I
), 2 (II
) or 3 (III
) depending on the ranking your team got that season.
The season 9, 21-23 medal is a shield shape with wings on it. On the shield itself there is a TF2 logo and a banner with two stars on it. All medals share this design with the exception of the Platinum one which features an airplane model with animated propeller. These medals share the same models with UGC 6vs6 Tournament medals.
The season 11, 19-20 medal has a TF2 logo with a single wing containing the ranking of the season. All medals have this design except the Platinum ones that has the extra feature of a colored shooting star aura that goes around the medal. This medal is also the one currently in use and has been used since season 19 of UGC Highlander. These medals share the same models with UGC 6vs6 Tournament medals.
The season 12-14 medal depicts a rising phoenix with either a 1, 2, 3 or * on it depending on the ranking of the team. All medals share this basic design, but the Platinum medals have the extra feature of rising fire behind the medal. These medals share the same models with UGC 6v6 (Season 14) and UGC 4v4 (Season 1) medals.
The season 15-18 medal is a bewinged circle on which the team rank is written as a roman numeral (participation medals just have the TF2 logo instead). Underneath is "UGC" written in block letters and a red and blue ribbon.
The season 24+ medal depicts a shield, plated with platinum, silver or steel, depending on the player's division, with UGC engraved on it above a varying number of stars, depending on the player's position in the tournament, which is connected at both sides to a team-colored strap.
The medals for Season 6, Season 8, Season 9, 21-23 and Season 11, 19-20 were contributed through the Steam Workshop.

Trivia
- The UGC forums have posted a thread detailing the making of the third season medal here.
- For the sixth season players who were awarded 1st, 2rd, or 3rd, place medals were also awarded a Participant medal. Valve rejected the original models submitted, and the creator had to come up with another design in 2–3 weeks. The placement medals were unpolished and the design of them were slightly controversial.
