- The hat resembles the Engineer's single welding glove, implying that the Pyro stole the glove from the Engineer.
- The glove's slightly resembles a rooster's comb, making the Pyro resemble Feathers McGraw, a penguin character from the Wallace and Gromit shorts who wore a glove on his head to disguise himself as a chicken.
