The Steel Shako is a community-created cosmetic item for the Soldier. It is a robotic version of the Stout Shako. It is a tall, team-colored metal shako with a metallic black visor and three golden bolts connected by black wires. The hat appears to be fastened together with six nuts on the top and bottom of it.
The Steel Shako was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

- The Steel Shako makes an appearance in an easter egg in the game The Stanley Parable. Typing "hideous" into the game's console can randomly load this page or the page for the Graybanns, HDMI Patch, Soldered Sensei, Soldier's Sparkplug, Timeless Topper, Well-Rounded Rifleman, or Western Wear.
- All of these items were contributed by Andrea Jörgensen, who also worked on The Stanley Parable as a 3D artist.[1]
