The Compatriot is a community-created cosmetic item for the Soldier. It is a bald eagle that sits upon the Soldier's left shoulder, and moves about with the Soldier.
When players equipped with this item kill an enemy unassisted by another player, the killfeed shows everyone in Pyroland that it gets the assist, with its custom name if it has one.
The Compatriot was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

Trivia
- The Bald Eagle is widely known as America's national bird and national animal. In the Team Fortress 2 universe, it is also one of the many selling points and symbols of Mann Co.
