The Chieftain's Challenge is an unlockable headwear item for the Soldier. It appears as a stereotypical Native American war bonnet.
Notes (about in game features)
- This hat is also obtainable from an opened Mann Co. Supply Crate. It can be found, with some luck, within Series #2 Crates.
- When a Soldier equipped with the Chieftain's Challenge is ÜberCharged, the back of the feather headdress becomes transparent. This transparency is a not-yet fixed bug.
Trivia
- A traditional headdress of Native Americans was made from eagle feathers. Feathers could be earned through different deeds done in war.
- When the Mann-Conomy update was first shipped, the Chieftain's Challenge name was misspelled as "Chieftan's Challenge". This was fixed in a patch shipped on October 6th, 2010.
- This hat looks very similar to the one submitted by Ruskeydoo for the the Polycount contest.
- This is the second hat for the Soldier to keep the original helmet, the first being the Soldier's Stash. Similar to the Batter's Helmet, Mining Light and Trophy Belt.
